Sometimes it’s just too hot to cook. Sometimes, The Huz and I find ourselves at Trader Joe’s giving the cheese selection an almost inappropriately long stare. Cheese. YUM! Because our fair city has chosen to make up for last summer’s cool, rainy weather by broiling us daily from June until August this year, it wasn’t surprising that we found ourselves leering at the oven again this week. The result? A Parisian dinner redux. It must have been close to a month ago that I tweeted about our dinner fit for only the most discerning Francophile. We spread out a blanket in our living room and served up cheese, crusty bread and preserves while sipping white wine and watching a French movie. As you can see, we liked it so much we didn’t change much this time around!

The players:

French cheese

“French” wine (we realize it’s from California, but Sauvignon Blanc is a varietal that originates from the Bordeaux region of France, so there!)

French bread

All together now with some French goat cheese and leftover tomato cream sauce.

Encore!

Encore!

Do you enjoy themed dinners? Our friend, Kristen, makes some of the most amazing themed meals and throws the best dinner parties. We’ve enjoyed everything from homemade chicken mole to a full Thanksgiving dinner thanks to her!

Yum! I eat this meal often. And with goat cheese, organic fig preserves (Whole Foods) are particularly yummy.

(Sorry about that)…equally homely and sexy. He could read the phone book and make it sound like a love poem (or a more blatant attempt to get you in the sack).:)

Now, Mother. We’re not supposed to discuss things like getting me (or even the rhetorical ‘me’ hehe) in the sack! ;-) But I like the way you think. A sexy voice is to be treasured!
